Brave Thinking Institute seeks a full-time LOCAL Videographer & Editor with a passion for personal development to work in Coto de Caza, California.

 

Since 2009, Brave Thinking Institute has been a global leader in the personal development/professional coaching industry. We’re on the lookout for a skilled Videographer & Editor to join our Media Department.

Our full-time Videographer & Editor will shoot and edit engaging content for a variety of platforms. In this collaborative environment, you’ll work hand in hand with our Creative Director and Production Executive to shoot and edit media intended to meet and exceed company goals and objectives. Our ideal candidate is a strong storyteller who can capture the authenticity of the styles listed above while driving viewers to take action.

  • Trailers
  • Ads
  • Testimonials
  • Documentaries
  • Marketing webinars
  • LiveCasts
  • Program content videos
  • YouTube Videos
  • TV commercials (and more…)

 

Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables

  • Create and produce high-quality content that includes video, motion graphics and images, testimonials, trailers, and sizzle reels marketed to clients
  • Operate video cameras such as the Canon DSLR series, C100, C300 cameras on location or in a studio setting
  • Edit video content using Final Cut X, and Adobe CC, and utilize sub-software systems such as Photoshop, Motion, and After Effects for video graphic design
  • Work with our Creative Director and Production Executive to plan, develop, and execute the shooting and production of exceptional content for Brave Thinking Institute
  • Edit video for a variety of lengths and a variety of platforms (including mixing sound)
  • Manage digital footage archive
  • Work with existing footage and assets to repurpose them for further use
  • Maintain consistency of the brand and adhere to brand standards with all content
  • Maintain equipment
  • Stay up to date on the latest trends in video production and storytelling
  • Record live event footage and live event testimonials

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in video production and editing, with a proven track record (preferably with personal development media experience)
  • Must submit a REEL, which includes work filmed, edited, and produced. *The reel must be NO LONGER than 5 minutes. This is footage that you have filmed yourself, not repurposed footage from another videographer. The reel must include graphics you have created.

 

Skills / Functional Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of video storytelling
  • Editing in a variety of styles, from sizzle reels to documentary-style
  • Digital Asset Management Experience
  • Produce high-quality work on tight deadlines
  • Pitch/Sell your ideas in a confident/compelling manner
  • Advanced use of all video equipment (including audio and light packages)
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail
  • SELF-DRIVEN and INITIATIVE TAKER - working fast and autonomously
  • Administrative competency – working with multiple departments for deliverables

 

Abilities

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 (Occasionally, up to 50 pounds)
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday
  • Must be Mac/iOs Proficient
  • Must be proficient in Final Cut X, Premiere, Photoshop, Motion, and After Effects for video graphic design

 

Work Environment

  • VERY IMPORTANT: Regular business hours required, Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5 pm on non-shoot or non-live event weeks (minimum 40+ hours per week required)
  • Able to travel to 2 - 3 live events annually
  • 60% of work is REMOTE (from your home office)
  • 30% of work is production at our studio in Coto De Caza or on-set at a local Orange County location
  • 10% live event work and media work (including some travel)

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be legal to work in the U.S.
  • Must possess a valid California driver's license
  • **Must reside within 30 miles of Coto de Caza, CA, 92679**

 

Salary: Full Time, $60k - $65k annually + benefits package (PTO, Holidays, Medical, Dental,Vision, & 401k)
